 GMO Registry Reveals .shop Results in First Hours

.shop General Availability Opened Today

 

Tokyo, Japan – September 26, 2016 – GMO Internet Group company, GMO Registry, Inc. announces that .shop, the new top level domain for ecommerce today opened for General Availability. Here we take a look at results in the first hours of GA and the .shop launch phases.

 

In the first 30 minutes 39,801 .shop domain names were registered and by the two-hour mark GA registrations grew to 45,427. There are now a total of 51,755 .shop domain names after more than 1,000 names were registered by trademark holders during Sunrise and around 5,000 during the Early Access Period. Many of those first in the door at .shop chose to pick up premium names and a total of 616 premium names have been registered to date.
